The Australian Government recently awarded Abt Global a contract to implement the next iteration of Australia’s development support to Fiji, through the Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP).
The $90 million umbrella program covers approximately half of Australia’s development assistance to Fiji through Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. FPSP includes sector programs in basic education, scholarships and the Australia Awards, health, disaster response, social infrastructure and technical assistance to improve public sector governance. The Platform also addresses climate and disaster resilience objectives as well as gender equality, disability and social inclusion across the entire portfolio.
In line with Australia’s commitment to embedding First Nations perspectives, experience and contemporary ties into policy, FPSP will elevate Indigenous and community voices and perspectives throughout. Abt will manage the Platform with our Fijian partner Talanoa Consulting, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) partner Clear Horizon, and indigenous Australian partner Ninti One.
