Rockville, Md. – Abt Global has moved the 450 employees in its Bethesda office to the new Pike and Rose neighborhood in Rockville, Md. Located at 6130 Executive Boulevard, the new, 150,000-square foot office was built to LEED specifications and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to speed connections and collaboration among Abt’s worldwide staff of more than 3,000 operating in over 40 countries.
“Abt Global is proud to continue our long-term commitment to Montgomery County with our new collaborative, learning-focused office design.” said President and CEO Kathleen Flanagan. “This new headquarters will support the continued growth in our employee base.”
She added, “As a global company, it is critical that our employees around the world are able to effectively connect and share knowledge and experiences to better support our clients and the mission impact we deliver. This new space will enable us to do that.”
The new workplace is rich with features that support the work, people and health of the company.
- 100 percent of wall paint is zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) emitting, for healthy indoor air quality
- 100 percent of carpeting is carbon neutral, low VOC emitting and made from 88 percent recycled content
- 100 percent of workstations--using 85 percent recycled content--have daylight or direct outdoor views
- All lighting uses energy efficient LED bulbs, reducing energy consumption by up to 75 percent
- More than 1,000 air filtering live plants
- 190 meeting and teaming spaces
“Every detail is focused on creating a great experience for our employees,” said Flanagan. “From the design of the workstations to the expanded seating in the cafes, we wanted to open up opportunities for staff to meet their colleagues and create more innovative and effective solutions to improve the lives of people most in need worldwide.”
“We are extremely pleased that Abt Global has chosen to relocate and grow its headquarters here, in Montgomery County,” said Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett. “I also want to thank the State of Maryland for its support in helping to retain this global company.”
“Maryland Commerce is proud to support Abt Global in its move to a new location in Montgomery County to provide the best possible service to its clients,” said Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill. “More and more companies like Abt Global are expanding in Maryland, which is a testament to our talented workforce and our focus on advancing our innovation economy.”
