Teresa Mota, BSN, RN is an Associate/Nurse Researcher and a sought-after clinical researcher on federal and state projects emphasizing aging, long-term care, and improving the care experience. Mota has an extensive clinical and health services research background in geriatric nursing, and she specializes in post-acute care, quality improvement (QI) and supporting community-based providers and stakeholders to assist them in the identification of best-practices, develop resources and tools, communications, and implementation of QI initiatives. Mota also participates in data collection, measurement, analysis, and reporting related to these programs.
With 30+ years of combined nursing and QI experience, and a penchant for supporting task teams in her work, Mota brings an enthusiastic and technically accurate approach to cross-setting QI initiatives related to topics spanning, development of post-acute care patient/resident assessment instruments, substance use disorders and dementia care in long term care, including special clinical considerations for COVID-19; COVID-19 vaccination technical assistance for those experiencing homelessness; and quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI).
At Abt, Mota has applied her subject matter expertise in the facilitation and delivery of clinical and QI education to federal and state clients, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Mota also participates in data collection, measurement, analysis, and reporting related to these programs.
