She has experience with social media management, web and social media analytics, and content development. She also has expertise in communications products and creative materials development, including newsletters, reports, briefs, journal articles, blogs, videos, and infographics. In addition, she has experience with outreach and dissemination, primarily in the federal healthcare space. Kalavapudi translates complex information (health information, data, and research) for audiences of various technical knowledge, including policymakers and practitioners.
Before joining Abt Global, Kalavapudi worked for the American Institutes for Research, managing social media strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Hootsuite platforms. Her work on CDC Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention projects involved issues ranging from strategic communications support to HIV prevention and treatment continuum of care. Her work on contracts with the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation involved promoting youth well-being and positive youth outcomes and digital communications support and dissemination.
She also coordinated marketing campaign activities to promote CMS eHealth, an initiative to reach physicians and clinical settings nationwide to implement and enhance electronic health records.
